The currently 12 Neighbours come from Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Somalia, the Chechen Republic. In the 2nd, 12th, 20th Viennese districts, they motivate women of the same language background, who with their families live withdrawn lives, to participate in society around them. They accompany their first steps outside. Often, putting them into contact with a municipal or counselling institution does the trick. There are also "culture breakfasts" with presentations on education and health, exercise groups, sewing courses, German courses, as well as coaching and leisure activities for children. The Neighbours themselves are being accompanied professionally. Soon they'll pass on their knowledge to Neighbours in Linz.
