The ombudsman assists clients who are classified as living in social hardship because of a precarious income, health, housing, or family situation, an acute life crisis or debt. The aim is always to ensure a sustained supply of energy, which is why clients are assisted over a longer period. Through networking and cooperation with public and private social institutions as well as (political) decision-makers, the ombudsman devises realistic solutions for each individual hardship case. After one year, assistance was being provided to some 950 customers.
