Unfortunately some groups of people with more or less visible common traits need to be protected from parts of the majority population: in the immediate aftermath of a so-called hate crime; preventively through (legal) information of potential victims and perpetrators; socio-politically through creation of awareness amongst political deciders and the men and women on the street. In IUSTICIA combines the different levels in a pioneering, socially innovative way: victims tell what has happened to them to reveal social patterns, the public debate makes it more difficult to hide behind taboos and will – hopefully! – make potential perpetrators think twice.
