Gypsy MaMa is a new brand that combines elements of traditional Roma attire and current fashion trends. We employ young Roma people from a socially excluded area through social enterprise. The unemployment rate for this group is 90%. The project’s overall objective is the development of mutual understanding among cultures, and the creative engagement of the local Roma community with society.

Young adults, inhabitants of the so-called Brno Bronx, otherwise mostly rejected and ostracised by society, can here prove their creative capabilities. With the help of the fashion brand Gypsy MaMa they manage to convince themselves, their proper community, and the majority population. The project is a very displayable, a very presentable mixture of ethno design, employment creation, social work, regional value creation and multiple local networking. If the planned commercial and geographical expansion can be made real, then many more innovative bridges between people will be stylishly built – beyond all prejudices.
