Thirty pupils from the new middle school 1 in Traun, aged between 10 and 15 years, together stage their different origin stories under theatrical and pedagogical guidance. The pupils come from fourteen different countries and some are economically disadvantaged. Using methods from improvisational and physical theatre, both the different personal experiences as well as stories the families tell themselves are collected, combined, condensed and then translated onto the stage. By the end of the process a “theatre with multiple stages” is developed that the pupils can show together in school.

Miről szól a projekt?
A zsűri elismerése
The students stage their own lives; they tell tales of departure and arrival. Or they tell of how they were already here and experienced the arrival of the others and how they all stayed together. Words need not necessarily be used in the telling of the tale. The activating approach to ‘arrival’ is innovative: the students not only arrange something already experienced anew, they also shape their own futures in the process. Interest is awakened in the different stories that surround us. Hopefully leading to the conclusion that when everyone is different, no one is different.
