Political discourse, dominated by older men, hardly reflects the world of girls and young women, not only in Austria’s far west. Now girls in Vorarlberg sally forth and inquire digitally. They demand answers to their concerns regarding youth work, the environment, the labour market, and vocational training. And to get more fun out of asking, and to make sure that their questions will be understood, they produce short videos. The public can thus get involved more easily – and that will put additional pressure on those politically in charge, especially at provincial or local election time.
