What is it about?

A Promise to Slovenia is a socially responsible project with the purpose to promote social activism, participation, volunteerism, and encourage trust, solidarity and the idea of a better society for all through giving back to others in need. We do not want just words, we want actions. We live in a world we co-create, not the one we wish to have. Let us be the change for the benefit of Slovenia.

Appreciation of the Jury

People are mobilised to participate in shaping the world they live in. Many hope for a better world – this Slovenian innovation commits to concretisation. It tries to oblige people to transform their own ideas and words – the "promises" – into deeds. Individual social responsibility and personal engagement are to be strengthened, with plenty of room for personal initiative. At the same time, everyone who ventures to make such a "promise" is subject to appraisal by others. The expectations that have been created now act as reinforcements. What and if I make my words come true becomes visible.
