The Szimpla Farmer's Market is a first producer market in downtown Budapest held every sunday. The market is a cultural and social venue as well with live music, children's program and agricultural workshops. Each week a different NGO hosts a communal cooking show as a fundraising event, while cyclist volunteers deliver food donations for families in need.

Appreciation of the Jury
The ‘Szimpla Farmers’ Market’ is highly popular. Only 50% of the registered small farmers are able to obtain a stand, for which they pay relatively very little. The places for NGOs cooking meals have already been assigned up to the end of June 2013 and far more than 200 meals have been sold... the organizers have started thinking about expanding the market. The overall concept is innovative: Opportunities for small farmers to sell at affordable rates, information on social issues and specific action, and high-quality food together with discussion of it – this mixture is evidently rewarding for everyone concerned.
