… and the winner of the audience award is….

We warmly congratulate the Hungarian project "Pilot Light" on winning the SocialMarie Audience Award 2024. 

In August 2022, gas prices in Hungary surged by 650%, going beyond a set usage threshold. This, along with the energy provider´s inconsistent communication and incorrect billing settings, led to financial struggles for many families. The pilot light team successfully addressed numerous individual and collective gas billing issues mishandled or neglected by the supplier. They developed free resources like spreadsheets and an online calculator to tackle the complexity of gas pricing and billing in Hungary. They also created a Facebook group for personalized consumer assistance.  

Warm congratulations to this innovative project from Hungary, which receives € 1.000 for training and development purposes.
